"For me, even after living in Berlin for twenty years, Slovenia is my only homeland. I feel a great sense of pride in its achievements because, time and again, I see progress in infrastructure and in the attitude of people towards their homes and property. Anyone who visits Slovenia is enchanted by its beauty and the kindness of its people. We are celebrating the silver jubilee of our independent country and we wish it to remain independent forever. I personally believe in our people, who work for the common good of us all, whether in politics, culture or in all religious areas. I am grateful to all who create jobs. While I have been abroad, I have noticed rapid changes in all areas and I am inclined to spend my retirement at home. One may change everything, but not one's homeland. One’s homeland is like a mother, who is always the most beautiful and the best. One may like all places, but only love one's homeland. God bless you and keep you, Slovenia, my one and only."
